Re: “How Peet's Starbucked Itself

This doesn't even begin to cover why Peet's is a bad, overextended employer. They let employees fall out of health coverage when the manager can't divy hours correctly. They somehow want open availability with shifts ranging from 4:30am to 10:45pm so they don't like students with full loads, yet if it's your primary work they don't want you to have a high minimum of hours needed.

Schedules are often released 3 days before the work week begins. My health coverage is just as much as I have always paid through other employers but my doctor is in the next county. Employee corrective citations are lost, and we stuck with underperforming staff sometimes for the better part of the year - forcing everyone to work harder and undergo criticism.
We had a bug infestation that didn't get solved at the store level, I had to reach out to health agencies, because the manager didn't know what to do. But the whole while we were required to continue selling our exposed pastries and they wouldn't order any fewer.
We are constantly given no support in regards to what we can and can't do for customers in the name of customer service, and our manager won't take any responsibility for the abuse of our staff and our store by local transients, drug dealers and prostitutes.
