The NOSB vote on cloning was a good one, but it's only a recommendation to the USDA's National Organic Program, which actually writes the regulations. So it isn't in force yet. (The NOSB is an advisory board). The important thing is that the NOSB looked as if were going to adopt weaker language on this, until consumers, advocates and farmers got on the bandwagon and made their views known. The NOSB quickly decided to take a firmer stance and ban clones and their progeny. The NOP has signaled it supports this view.
