The Russian National Orchestra, under the direction of its founder, pianist Mikhail Pletnev, celebrates in 20th anniversary with its first Cal Performances appearance since 2004. It also showcases 24-year-old violinist Stefan Jackiw, who plays the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto, and soprano Lisa Delan, who sings Pletnev's Yeats Song Cycle. Shostakovich's Symphony No. 9 rounds out the very tempting program. If you're still violin-starved, catch Joshua Bell's Cal Performances recital in the same location Sunday at 3.
