Running on Local

When: Thu., June 5, 5:30-8:30 p.m. 2014
Price: $15
We’re all vaguely familiar with the concept of buying local, and the good economic sense behind it — but what does it look like on the ground, and how do we build resilient local systems in the face of challenges? This Thursday, Impact Hub Oakland (2323 Broadway) will host a panel discussion on the subject featuring Carol Peppe Hewitt, founder of Slow Money North Carolina; the biofuel and alternative-energy entrepreneur Lyle Estill; and Teddy Stray from Point Reyes Compost. It’s sure to be illuminating — and inspiring.
