RPM Challenge Starts February 1

This year's RPM Challenge kicks off in a week. Are you ready??? For the uninitiated, Record Production Month (now in its fifth year) challenges musicians to produce a record (10 songs or 35 minutes long) in 28 days. It's like National Novel Writing Month, but for musicians (or wannabe musicians, for that matter). Here's how it works: Sign up on RPM's web site, spend the month writing and recording new songs, then drop your CD in the mail (postmarked no later than March 2). The East Bay Express will host a listening party for participants in the Berkeley/Oakland region on March 27 (venue TBA), where we'll play one song from each submission. (Last year 80 bands in Northern California participated, and about 35 completed the project by deadline.) Your songs will also be featured on RPM's online jukebox.
