Rosie's Big Bash

When: Fri., May 25, 7-10 p.m. 2012
Price: $19.42-$250

It's been a more than a decade since Big Bad Voodoo Daddy dominated charts and got everyone feeling all nostalgic for simpler times, but a Rose the Riveter party seems just the right occasion to get back in the swing of things. The National Park Service is unveiling its new World War II Home Front NHP Visitor Center in Richmond, and to celebrate it's throwing a night of cocktails, food, and dancing. Even if you've got two left feet it might be worth it if you've never been to an event at Richmond's elegant CranewayPavillion (1414 Harbour Way South Marina District, Richmond).  Plus it's a throwback event for a good cause. The new Visitor Center, which opens Saturday, commemorates the 70th  birthday of equality WWII's famous symbol of women's equality. If you spring for the VIP option, you'll get special early access to the museum, plus free drinks to wet your whistle and get you dancing. It all happens Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m., $19.42-$250, Craneway.com
