Rosalie Sorrels has been a folk singer and feminist icon for almost fifty years, a woman with an insatiable appetite for life and music, and a singer of uncommon power. She's been on the road, making her living as a singer since the '60s, playing the Newport Folk Festival, the Isle of Wight, and every folk club and coffeehouse known to woman. She's slowed down a bit in the past few years, but her forceful vocals are still inspiring. She's appearing in Berkeley to promote her new album, Strangers in Another Country, a collection of songs by fellow road warrior Utah Phillips. It's getting universal raves for its soulful interpretations of Phillips' tunes.
