Rock Make Street Festival

When: Sat., Sept. 15, 12-7 p.m. 2012
Price: $3-$5

Credit goes to local band Tartufi for helping to organize the Rock Make Street Festival for the fifth year in a row. What began as an outlet to showcase the Mission's indie bands (and itself) has grown into a fairly well curated, all-ages local music/street festival, the kind of event where you drink too much, get a sunburn, engage in strange conversations with random people and people you know, and pick up some handcrafted or vintage item in the process. This year's edition looks pretty promising, too: John Vanderslice, Tartufi (of course), Exray's, Will Sprott (of The Mumlers), Burnt Ones, DRMS, Yalls, Twin Steps, The Mallard, Permanent Collection, Metal Mother, and Kids on a Crime Spree. Slather on the sunscreen, drink some water, and take BART. On Saturday, Sept. 15, in the Mission (Treat and 18th sts., San Francisco). Noon-7 p.m., $3-$5 suggested donation. RockMake.com
