Comedy drama, Science fiction
Sometime in the near future, a solitary, cantankerous, disoriented senior citizen (Frank Langella) is presented with a robot caretaker by his family, and after some adjustment Frank learns to admire his new friend – especially when it comes to his assistance with the old man’s lifelong profession, burglary. At times it seems as if this were written by an automaton, but there’s no denying the, err, chemistry between Langella and his nameless buddy (voice of Peter Sarsgaard). The director, Jake Schreier, got his start in commercials. It shows. Screenplay by TV whiz Christopher D. Ford. Also with Liv Tyler, James Marsden, and Susan Sarandon. (90 min.)
Director: Jake Schreier
Producer: Jeremy Bailer, Lance Acord, Galt Niederhoffer, Jackie Bisbee and Sam Bisbee
Cast: Frank Langella, Peter Sarsgaard, Susan Sarandon, Liv Tyler, James Marsden, Jeremy Strong, Jeremy Sisto and Liev Schreiber
