Re: “Goodbye, Express Readers

Yes, Robert did the best article on AC Transit and the new buses from hell...and, I was always surprised when Chris Peeples from AC Board (usually a man with intelligence and reason) who I rode the bus with over the years, didn't want to admit to the mistakes made by the board....it was terrific journalism and Chris apparently was caught in the middle of a thorny issue and took to throwing the reality exposed in the article, under the bus!

Re: “Goodbye, Express Readers

Sorry to see you leave Robert Gammon! One of my favorite East Bay Express investigative stories came from you on the dark reality of Fenton's Ice Creamery which is in my neighborhood. This expose mad emany of us sad, and caused me to not buy their ice cream once they had re-opened after the fire. The Peralta story of course was hugely enlightening about a popular East Bay citizen who also had a shadow as it were. Looking forward to your new adeventure in journalism. You are a voice that needs to be heard.

Re: “When Landlords Lie

WHY WASN'T THE HEALTH DEPT. IN OAKLAND CALLED ABOUT THE SUBSTANDARD APARTMENT IN THE BOTTOM OF APARTMENT WHERE THE LANDLORD ALLEDGELY CLAIMED TO BE LIVING WITHOUT ELECTRICITY ETC.? PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD MAY LIVE WITHOUT BASIC UTILITIES BUT IT IS NOT LEGAL FROM A HEALTH STANDARD REGULATION ESPECIALLY AS A LANDLORD WHO THAN COULD PRESUMBLY FORCE HIS TENENTS TO LIVE SUBSTANDARD BECAUSE HE CLAIMED HE DID? THIS ARGUMENT IS BS AND THIS LANDLORD PERSON NEEDS TO BE SUED FOR DISRUPTING THE PEACE AND HURTING PERFECTLY REASONABLE TENENTS IN ORDER TO PROFIT

Re: “The Superheroes Behind the Scenes

This story of this beautiful project coming out of AHC Art Esteem as visualized by Amana Harris and her amazing parents, co-creators, and artists, who run AHC, breaks my heart. I am at a loss for words in expressing the grief I feel for the family and friends of Antonio Ramos. Oakland is my home town and I will continue to pray for it's healing and love for all!
