Re: “Why California Weed Is Still the Best

People who use cannabis in California are just as blasé about all the felonies for cannabis under State law as their counterparts in Colorado. Try to think just a little further than your next bud and consider that the "weed scene" -- in California, in Colorado; in every state in the Union -- includes the grinding persecution of those caught using, growing, selling, and delivering cannabis. Colorado is still making felons of its citizens for exactly the same conduct it now licenses in dispensaries, despite the facts that our Constitution now declares that cannabis "should be regulated in a manner similar to alcohol" and that the most serious offense involving alcohol under the Liquor Code is a misdemeanor -- believe it or not, our General Assembly (and Gov. Hack) increased the severity offenses involving cannabis; you can now commit a Class 1 felony (akin to premeditated murder) with cannabis in Colorado, as of last June. If we are so stupid as to continue to ignore the class of parasites who derive their livelihoods from making criminals of those who use cannabis, perhaps we deserve our fate, but I suggest instead that we repeal the unjust laws that permit those parasites to prey on the American People. If you think the "weed scene" is all about ease of access, you are missing most of reality.

This extortionist is an imminent threat to our lives and liberties. Strip her of her citizenship and expel her from our country!

Re: “Daily Roundup: Colorado's KushCon 2010 Overshadowing California?

As the founder of the Colorado Coalition for Patients and Caregivers, I must take exception to the impliocation that the laws passed by the Colorado General Assembly during its last session (as opposed to Article XVIII, Section 14 of our Constitution, made the supreme law of the state by the voters in 2000) were progressive, or really legitimized the for profit model. Our dispensary system grew to hundreds of businesses under the protections implicit in our Constitution. The sponsor of last session's bills stated publicly that his intention was to close 80% of dispensaries, and the state is moving in on caregivers, dispensaries, doctors, and patients in an effort to squeeze the entire enterprise back onto the black market using these unconstitutional laws.
