BART--Best paid transit workers in the country now want a pay raise at a time that State workers are up to THREE furlough days and most municipal workers are taking pay cuts. Spare me the "hard working" crap. Like the rest of us don't work hard as well! Of course the District is in a budget mess due to BART's unions! Yes, the District management team is also a greedy bunch, but let's not pretend BART's unions aren't at the core of the cost increases that we--the riding public--now have to pay for!
