Report: Bay Area Residents Get to Spend More Years Contemplating Their Inevitable Demise

According to a new study published in the magazine PLoS Medicine, Bay Area residents live longer than almost anyone else in the country. Residents of Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, for example, are expected to live 78 years on average, the Oakland Tribune reports. Meanwhile, the poor saps in Phillips County, Arkansas don't even get to age 70. Oh well; at least they still have the Razorbacks. (Hey, we had to think of something nice to say.)
