Price: $10-$13

Days before the bombs go bursting in air, especially in the Fruitvale, where I live, Brooklyn-based REDSHIFT engages in far more musical (and some would say memorable) pursuits. Along with Bay Area ensemble Jack O' The Clock, whose music resides at the intersection of American folk, progressive rock, and experimental music, REDSHIFT presents an electroacoustic evening with a special focus on music inspired by dreams and the arctic. Headlining the event is Arctic Sounds, a full-length program that incorporates oft-synthesized field recordings of Alaskan wildlife. Seabirds, whales, wolves and more share the stage with percussion, violins, and voice. Head to Brick and MortarMusic Hall (1710 Mission Street, San Francisco) on Thursday, June 30. 9 p.m., $10 advance, $13 at the door. 415-800-8782 or
