April 6, 2007 This letter was written by my fifth grade students at Peralta. Ana Thomas Dear Newspaper, Part of our school recently burned in a fire and we were moved to a new campus. Something amazing happened during our relocation efforts- hundreds of people offered their love, condolences, sweat, and hard work. This letter is written to say thank you to every soul that helped. THANK YOU!!!!! The movers were wonderful! We are glad that the move went smoothly. Thank you parents and care givers for supporting our school. Community members have helped our school grow in a positive way. Thank you students and teachers for helping the school move to a new place. Thank you teachers, tutors, tech. support, and staff for all of your hard work. Thank you Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Meyers for pulling our school together. We are happy that our walls are freshly painted. We want to thank Felicia and all of the other workers for making the school look better than it did before. Thank you artists who helped decorate and garden. We want to thank the therapists for listening. Thanks to the Oakland School District Administrators for keeping us all together. We need to thank the people who had to move to make space for us. We are thankful to have another school to learn in. We want to especially thank Mrs. Costello for being our warrior.
