Re: “I am Annoyed and Disappointed

I once applied to work at Cafe Gratitude. The manager interviewing me spent a good deal of time explaining the uniqueness of the Cafe Gratitude workplace culture. He said things like, "Cafe Gratitude is not your average workplace," explaining that a willingness to undergo self transformation is an integral part of the employee community. He also mentioned that employees are encouraged to attend Landmark. He even asked me for feedback and a reflection at the end of the interview, prompting me to share how I felt about the possibility of doing Landmark.

I don't know if Ash Ritter was given a similarly transparent interview, but I certainly was fully informed about Cafe Gratitude's strong ties with Landmark well in advance of choosing whether or not to work there. I didn't end up working there for other reasons, but had I ended up working there and feeling uncomfortable, I would have been fully responsible.

I happened to have attended the Landmark Forum and the Landmark Advanced Forum two years before I even knew about Cafe Gratitude, and both programs were monumental forces of positive growth for me. I gained tools that I have continued to use to this day, such as methods of living at peace, being effective and powerful, and of having authentic relationships. I have found much happiness through Landmark and I reccommend that before one criticizes Landmark, he or she tries it out.

Landmark is not for everyone but nor is anything. The bottom line is: if one chooses to recognize and take responsibility for choices one has made, then that person becomes empowered to continue to choose the conditions of life rather than be a victim of condition.
