Further minimalist explorations of narrative by Romanian auteur Corneliu Porumboiu (12:08 East of Bucharest). A young detective named Cristi (actor Dragos Bucur) harbors doubts about the suspected drug dealer he’s surveilling and about the related narcotics case in general. When he tries to explain this to his surly, uncommunicative boss, the conversation veers off into semantics. No music track. Very little dialogue. Is it a veiled critique of Romanian society, or a sleep aid? Many questions to ponder. Wake me when you arrive at an answer. Written and directed by Porumboiu (113 min.)
Director: Corneliu Porumboiu

Cast: Dragos Bucur, Vlad Ivanov, Irina Saulescu, Ion Stoica, Marian Ghenea, Cosmin Selesi, George Remes, Dan Cogalniceanu and Serban Georgevici
