As the CoCo Times reports, the Pleasanton city council voted 3-2 to cancel what would have amounted to a $400-per-council-member monthly pay increase after getting called out for approving the raise in a private meeting, and therefore in violation of the Brown Act. As it stands, council members earn $500 and the mayor $600 per month. Mayor Jennifer Hosterman voted to keep the pay increase, while councilman and likely mayor-elect (pending remaining absentee and provisional ballot tabulation) Steve Brozosky voted no.
