Oakland Rotary #3 presents Emmy Award winning filmmaker Peter Nicks, discussing his film, “The Force” on September 14 from 12pm-1:30pm. Nicks’ film documents two tumultuous years of the Oakland Police Department. Presenting police and community viewpoints, the film follows a new Chief building community trust while coping with a sex scandal. This free presentation is part of the Rotary Club’s Thursday speaker series at the California Ballroom, 1736 Franklin Street in downtown Oakland. \ Non-Rotary member guests must RSVP in advance to Oakland Rotary: 510-451-2120 X 10.
