Re: “Fighting for Their Right to Bike

As a hiker and park user I too am disappointed with the neglect of our parks. There are thousands of acres of park land that I cannot even set foot on, yet cows are free to wander, eat the grasses and poop. I feel for the bikers since most of the trails aren't even fun to hike. Only in the east bay is a hiking trip with my family one of climbing ridiculously steep, gravel covered fire roads. We're greeted with signs warning that we have to stay on the "trails" yet all I see are roads. Pathetic. Let's give them another HALF-BILLION dollars to add more land to this unusable mess. Thanks, but I'll pass. I can drive 15 minutes to another district where they know how to manage the park lands. Sadly I'll also spend my gas and food money in those counties, thus taking away funds from my already under-funded city and county.
