Penthesilea – Queen of the Amazons in John Hinkel Park – FREE!

Aug. 23-Sept. 7 2014
Price: FREE!
Actors Ensemble and Inferno Theatre present Penthesilea – Queen of the Amazons, adapted and directed by Giulio Perrone from the classic play by Kleist, presented FREE in John Hinkel Park.

Penthesilea leads the Amazons into the Trojan War intending to take captives. Their plans go awry when Penthesilea finds herself irredeemably attracted to the leader of the Greeks, Achilles, and vice versa. Their final confrontation is an intense exploration of the nature of attraction and the conflict between love and duty. Movement and music enhance the battle of the sexes in a beautiful outdoor setting.
