Penelope Scambly Schott

Feminist poet Penelope Scambly Schott has won a Turning Point Poetry Prize, an Orphic Prize, and the Oregon Book Award for her book A Is for Anne: Mistress Hutchinson Disturbs the Commonwealth. Her other volumes include The Pest Maiden, ImitatioRedux, A Little Ignorance, The Perfect Mother, and Penelope: The Story of the Half-Scalped Woman. At Mrs. Dalloway's (2904 College Ave., Berkeley) on Sunday, Feb. 13, Schott reads from her new book Crow Mercies, which has become the first-ever Sarah Lantz Memorial Poetry Book Prize winner. 4 p.m., free.
