Blithe, intriguing documentary profile of the heiress-turned-20th-century-art-collector details Ms. Guggenheim’s first-cabin lifestyle in Paris, Venice, and her native New York, but also the long, long roster of artist and writers she dealt with – and slept with – from the 1920s forward. Gossipy and a bit superficial thanks to director Lisa Immordino Vreeland’s puffball questions in a recently unearthed audio interview, the doc always keeps Peggy’s goal in mind: to rescue modern art masterworks from marauding Nazis in WWII, and to have a little fun in the process. Among the talking heads: Calvin Tomkins, Lisa Phillips, and movie star Robert De Niro Jr., son of artists Virginia Admiral and Robert de Niro Sr. (96 min.).
