Peet's Coffee Makes Fat Wad of Cash

Hey, look who's defying the national economic trends? While even Starbucks is closing six hundred stores, the East Bay's very own Peet's Coffee has recorded a seventeen percent jump in sales. In fact, according to the East Bay Business Times, the company almost doubled its profits, posting $3 million in net income, up from $1.8 million in the same period last year. Not bad.

And apparently, they're raking in the bucks while going green at the same time. The Peet's coffee roasting plant in Alameda was just awarded a big fat Leed Gold status by the Green Building Council. Just who do they think they are anyway, being all sustainable and profitable at the same time? No one's that perfect. Maybe they're all secret Giants fans or something...
