Pascuala Ilabaca and LoCura at Ashkenaz

Chilean singer-songwriter and accordionist Pascuala Ilabaca is embarking on her first-ever US tour, and her Bay Area debut will be at Ashkenaz in Berkeley. Ilabaca is leading a prolific new wave of young Chilean artists. Her sound incorporates traditional Chilean music with pop, rock, and jazz. Her music, which is influenced by her travels through India and Mexico, is accompanied by an accordion, her powerful voice, and a band. Bay Area’s LoCura will open the night of music and dancing with its infectious infusion of cumbia, reggae, flamenco, rumba, and ska. If you’ve been wanting to check out new music and like Latin sounds, you won’t want to miss the Bay Area debut of Pascuala Ilabaca. And LoCura will be sure to make you dance the night away.

Sunday, Sept. 10, 7:30 p.m., $20, Ashkenaz, 1317 San Pablo Ave., Berkeley.
