A new ferry terminal along Interstate 880 will not harm Eastshore State Park. According to the Daily Planet, the Water Emergency Transit Authority, a state panel, has voted to eliminate two possible ferry terminal sites in Albany that would have damaged the park. The authority instead selected a spot just south of the Berkeley Pier for the new ferry terminal, near HS Lordship's restaurant. The Berkeley Pier site was chosen over the Berkeley Marina. However, the ferry terminal spot doesn't appear to be a done deal. According to the Planet, the city of Berkeley may ultimately decide where the ferry terminal will go.
