Gia Coppola, granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola, has the bad luck to get stuck with James Franco’s eponymous short story collection for her come-out roll as a director. Coppola’s screenplay adaptation rounds up a typical posse of over-privileged suburban teenagers feeling sorry for themselves with drugs and other foibles in the title locale, and not even the smart perfs by Jack Kilmer and Emma Roberts make much of a difference. Makes us appreciate Gus Van Sant’s adolescent dioramas all over again. Franco and Nat Wolff costar as a horny girls’ soccer coach and a horny high-schooler, respectively (98 min.).
