David Carr, the “Media Desk” columnist of the New York Times, gives a movie-star-like performance as he conducts this worthwhile documentary tour of the Gray Lady and the dismal state of news-gathering in the early 21st century. Never mind that the film essentially functions as a commercial for the Times’ online pay wall. Instead, thrill to such media maharajahs as Markos Moulitsas, David Remnick, Gay Talese, Brian Stelter, and Twitter’s Evan Williams, wrestling with the really big questions: What is intellectual property? Who wants to pay for investigative journalism? and that all-time favorite, When was the end of the Iraq war? Directed by Andrew Rossi and written by Kate Novack and Rossi. (88 min.)
