9th Annual Paella Fiesta

Gerard Nebesky is a fairly big deal. You might already know this, having seen the long lines at his Eat Real Festival tent or watched him beat celebrity chef Bobby Flay on a Food Network paella cook-off. Since his business, Gerard’s Paella, is based in Sonoma County, local sightings are infrequent. But he’ll be in town for the ninth annual, two-day Paella Fiesta at Oakland’s Dashe Cellars, where Nebesky’s giant pans of paella will converge with fine wine, live flamenco music, and dance performances. Eat as much crispy-soft rice perfumed with saffron, paprika, and seafood as you can handle — luckily, paella pairs exceptionally well with a slew of wine varietals. Dashe will be pouring its usual fleet as well as brand new fall releases, and guests will even get to sample wine straight from the barrel. If you love Dashe’s work, this is also a chance to stock up. The winery will offer cases for 25 percent off during the party.
