Re: “ACORN Foresaw the Foreclosure Crisis in 2001

There are people besides ACORN who knew the dangers of "subprime mortgages." Anyone who has taken first-year finance in college or B-school would have seen it coming as I did with the wild real estate speculation starting in 1998. I took a punishing rent increase (is 50% punishing enough?) back then in 1999. So they had some $$ and they were able to get intimate with the legislators. Of course, the landowners and banks had more. Those legislators worry more about their campaign funds lest they cannot appear on TV enough times when they deem necessary. Have I said enough?

As for the "opposition" from the riders, how can that match the opposition from the motorists against the government imposing any social engineering on THEM? I'm still waiting for anything the transit advocates could put forth that would convince the taxpayer that their interest is in the PUBLIC interest. I've heard only their "vain repetitons" so far and their rallying cries of political correctness and their condemnations of my rhetoric and, yea, my character when I have made these same entreaties to these organizations.

Re: “Baffling 2010 Census Boycott

It sounds like MAPA is encouraging others to break the law. MAPA is going to have to convince me that they want a more open immigration policy on something more than their self-interest. Further, I want to see Americans working rather than employers looking for cheap labor so the rich can indulge themselves more. I also see that East Bay Express wants to terminate people from writing here arbitrarily. BAD! I hope they don't purport themselves as a "progressive newspaper."
