Re: “Your Daily Lick: Spandex Tiger

No publicity is bad publicity, and it couldn't be more true than right here. Moreover, this is not even bad publicity. This is great publicity. This is exactly it. And I want to thank you Nate Seltenrich for painting such an outstanding portrait of the Spandex Tiger experience. Just what exactly is the essence of Spandex Tiger? Well look no further than the East Bay express and their review of Dumpster Love. Yes, they have hit the nail right on the head with this one. "You'd better be drunk in a dive bar to appreciate them"? You're damn straight!!! What, you think that if you are sober in a cafe sipping on a latte that you will be able to fathom the Richness (pun intended) of Spandex Tiger's philosophy? As a matter of fact, I'll raise you one, Mr. Seltenrich. How about: "You better be drunk in a dive bar". Period. All the time. 'Try a new perspective on life' is the real message here. It's not about music appreciation. It's about embracing a life style. Perhaps the album would have been more worthy of critical acclaim if Rich Filthy had not decided to belt out: "late at night looking for some tussay". But rather, "Early in the morning, rushing off to work". . . Is that what the discerning listeners of today want? Tales of the ordinary, the mundane? I think not. So Nate Seltenrich is absolutely right when he states: "Anyone expecting trash will get it". Not only should they expect it, they should demand it.
