Ozzy Osbourne

When: Sun., Nov. 18, 7:30 p.m. 2007
Price: $49.75-$82.75

Talk about a roller-coaster career path. Ever since embarking on a solo career after a less-than-acrimonious departure as frontman for heavy metal godfathers Black Sabbath, OzzyOsbourne has gone from decapitating small animals, in between releasing a steady and solid stream of solo projects, to being at ground zero of reality television programming via his role as the doddering centerpiece of The Osbournes. And while the latter foisted spouse/walking parody Sharon and their questionably-talented progeny Kelly and Jack on the masses, Ozzy has always managed to prevent his television persona from appearing on a concert stage. And while Black Rain, (Ozzy's first studio album in six years), is no Blizzard of Ozz or Diary of a Madman, guitarist ZakkWylde and crew keep the music heavy and entertaining enough to merit checking out the results in a live setting. Opening the show is heavy metal acolyte and horror film impresario Rob Zombie. Sunday, Nov. 18 at Oakland's Oracle Arena.7:30 p.m., $47.50-$76.
