San Francisco Safari Disc Golf Tournament and Games Festival A two-day, three-course tournament. Played on courses Safari East and Safari West, temporary eighteen-hole courses, and Marx Meadow, the new permanent course in Golden Gate Park (twelve permanent baskets, six temporary). Ace contest, CTP, skins match, team tournament, and other side activities. Volunteers are needed to help set up the 49 temporary baskets and will receive free event merchandise. Alcatraz Challenge Aquathlon 24th Annual 1.5-mile straight swim from Alcatraz to Crissy Field, seven-mile run from Crissy Field over the Golden Gate Bridge, then return. Relay or go it solo. Mermaid Triathlon and Duathlon for Women Triathlon: 0.25-mile swim, 11-mile bike, 2.5-mile run; duathlon: 1.5-mile run, 11-mile bike, 2.5-mile run. Swim is parallel to the beach in Monterey Bay; the bike is a loop on mostly easy, rolling hills (paved); and the run is on both packed dirt and pavement. $70 individual (register before August 1), $120 three-person relay, $35 individual under eighteen; no relays in the duathlon, $40 individual, $20 under 18. TriOne Triathlon Two courses: The sprint or the international (longer and slower) course.
