Forest Whitaker goes slumming in a Meet the Parents-lite interracial thang, with Lance Gross as an African-American young man planning to marry his Mexican-American fiancée, played by America Ferrera. Naturally, nervous dads Whitaker and Carlos Mencia object and the dumb laffs multiply. Sample: the goat that ate the Viagra on the wedding day. Director Famuyiwa (he wrote the screenplay with Malcolm Spellman and Wayne Conley) sees to it that Whitaker gets most of the big scenes but Regina King, as that character’s lawyer/lover, gets her share as well. Of course, both families are rich (101 min.).
