Food party/sewing circle workshop, followed by a dance-video-text performance about "what we eat and illuminates the culture that underlies our eating practices." Choreographed by Amara Tabor-Smith, directed by Ellen Sebastian Chang, with music by Ajayi Lumumba Jackson, and featuring Aimee Suzara, Pippa Fleming, Eyla Moore, Alicia Walters, Stephanie Bastos, Adriel Eddo and Amara Tabor-Smith of Deep Waters Dance Theater. No previous sewing or quilting skills necessary for the sewing circle. Bring your kids, a dish to share, a recipe or food story to add to the quilt, and materials if you have them.
