On the night of February 5, several witnesses saw two unidentified men chase a woman into an apartment complex at the 1000 block of Aileen Street in North Oakland. They cornered her there, beat her, and dragged her into a nearby vehicle. The twenty-five year old victim managed to escape and showed up at a local hospital several hours later. Police gleaned enough details two identify two suspects, one of whom they apprehended last week in East Oakland, after a brief foot chase. Forty-four year old Larry Wilson is now in custody. He has been charged with kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. His accomplice, thirty-one year old Jerry Willliams, remains at large. Police ask that anyone with information on Williams' whereabouts please call the Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 510-238-3426 or 238-3744. Photo below.
