One Man, Two Guvnors

Sometimes being “hangry” gets the best of us, and in this case, Francis Henshall might let his hunger take control. Written by Richard Bean with music composed by Grant Olding, One Man, Two Guvnors is a slapstick comedy based on an Italian play. The production first premiered in London and eventually hit Broadway. In 2012, the Broadway version was nominated for seven Tony Awards, and James Corden won one for best actor. Now, director Timothy Beagley brings the global hit to the Bay Area. Set in the 1960s, the play follows Henshall, a man who’s merely trying to make some money by working for a couple of local gangster bosses, Roscoe Crabbe and Stanley Stubbers. However, complications arise when his OG boss, Crabbe, ends up being someone totally different. Between alpha-male debauchery, wooing women, and a constant and raging appetite, Henshall must take matters into his own hands.
