I think it's important to remember that you can have a huge effect by doing simple, small things. And that those simple, small things are really all that is required as long as many choose to also do simple, small things. An example would be to do your produce shopping at a Farmer's Market only once every two weeks. Imagine the effect on local, sustainable farmers if more people did just that and nothing else. People don't have to buy into some Shangri-La of food activism to engage in the basic principal in a meaningful way.

Guilt should not be part of the motivating factors in food choice either. It should be because there is something elemental that you get from that experience. If you don't, then forget it. Your energy is probably much better spent in another way. It's OK. Perhaps a good friend who *is* into it will have you over to dinner sometime :)
