As festival season winds to a close, one of the biggest, best, and most venerable local celebrations is still on the horizon: OaklandÕs Chinatown StreetFest, which bills itself as one of the largest Asian-American festivals in the United States and spans ten blocks in the heart of Chinatown (7th St. to 11th St. between Broadway and Harrison St., Oakland). This yearÕs event, the 23rd iteration, will feature over 200 food vendor booths; entertainment stages with music, dance and magic; and plenty of kidsÕ activities. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 28-29. 10 a.m..-5 p.m. both days, free.
