The corner space from which Northside Cafe dispenses vibrant breakfasts and lunches is historic. Where punks mingled thirty years ago at Rather Ripped Records, diners now sip enormous coffees and linger over a full menu of house-made soups, salads, scrambles, hot and cold sandwiches, stuffed baked potatoes, and old-fashioned egg, pancake, and French-toast breakfasts at sleek tables and along a counter spanning vast windows facing Cal. The best deals are the baked potatoes, which far outweigh nearly everything else for the same price.
