An affectless Manhattan maker of art movies (Olivia Thirlby) arrives in Los Angeles to finish her latest project in the home studio of a Hollywood sound engineer (John Krasinski) and his messed-up family. Suddenly everybody’s got ants in their pants. This nervous, intriguingly sour little character study by director Ry Russo-Young (You Wont Miss Me) and hot-property screenwriter Lena Dunham (Tiny Furniture) contains a surplus of bitterly funny performances, none more welcome than that of actress India Ennenga as the family’s high-school-age lovelorn poet, Kolt. Also among the horny Angelenos: Rosemarie DeWitt, Justin Kirk, and Rhys Wakefield. (82 min.)
