This Barbara Zuniga gal just made our day. According to the Chron, the Contra Costa County Judge put a big hole in Richmond's plans to build a massive malignant tumor usually known as an Indian casino up in unincorporated North Richmond. Apparently, the city didn't file an environmental impact report, which would probably take at least a year and warn the public about, you know, the casino's impact on the environment. As casino opponents hailed the ruling, city officials were still thinking about what to do next. Meanwhile over in Pleasanton, the City Council voted last night to break ground on a 140,000-square-foot ice skating rink! How cool is that? Hey senior citizens of the East Bay: don't blow your social security checks in Richmond's nasty little casino! Recapture the days of yore with a quick spin on the ice in Pleasanton! Unless you're worried about breaking a hip or something...
