Rivers of blood but only a trickle of believable action. Korean pop singer Rain stars as Raizo, member since boyhood of the Black Sand clan of ninjas, whose rebellion against the clan takes the form of piles of bodies, fountains of the red stuff, and meathead melodramatics. Sample dialogue by writers Matthew Sand and J. Michael Straczynski: “Let this death be remembered for a thousand years.” The one bright spot is the presence of longtime martial arts hero Sho Kosugi as the evil clan patriarch, Ozunu. Otherwise, forget it. Directed by James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) (99 min.).
