Ranchers in the Point Reyes National Seashore only want elk placed back in their designated wilderness for people to enjoy them. The elk in this seashore have 20,600 acres designated for them. Elk are affecting the 24 remaining organic dairies and grass fed beef ranches left in the seashore. Ranchers do not want elk killed, only placed back humanely and safely. Ranching has happened in the seashore for over 150 years and sustainable practices are still in place today. The ranchers are what made this seashore for people to enjoy.
