Perfectly timed with our preview of The Most Anticipated Local Releases of 2013, San Francisco's Thao and The Get Down Stay Down just released the title track off We the Common, out February 5.

"We the Common (For Valerie Bolden)" is as pop-forward as single "Holy Roller," but more anthemic with a chanted chorus that sounds like Arcade Fire. Pitchfork theorizes Thao Nguyen gained her newfound political edge from hanging out with Oaklander Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs.

Thao and The Get Down Stay Down plays Great American Music Hall as part of the Noise Pop Festival on Saturday, March 2.
