National Poetry Slam in Oakland! Starts 8/10!

Aug. 10-15 2015
The 26th Annual National Poetry Slam is coming to Oakland August 10th-15th, 2015.

This week 72 teams, from all over the U.S. and Canada, will be fighting tooth and nail for the favour of the discerning and eager crowds. During the day, participants and spectators will enjoy lots of themed open mics, workshops and showcases. Once the sun goes down, poets will put their game faces on and get ready to defeat their opponents in the biggest literary battle the spoken-word movement has to offer.

This intense five days of poetic sparring culminates in the National Poetry Slam Finals on Saturday night, featuring the tournament’s final four.
