Naomi Punk

When: Mon., March 16, 7 p.m. 2015
Price: $10
Since the release of Wild Moth’s 2013 full-length, Over Again — which dealt dense riffs at turgid tempos without compromising keen dynamics — the band has achieved a rare feat: consistently commanding rapt and sizable audiences without much in the way of a recorded follow-up (a split single appeared earlier this year, with North Bay standby Creative Adult, and a recent label switch bodes well for imminent releases.) Still, the regular headliners are relegated to openers on Monday at 1-2-3-4 Go! Records (420 40th St., Oakland), when tour mates PC Worship and Naomi Punk top the bill. PC Worship sets busted electronics and acrid tape decay atop already-caustic noise rock, which, on last year’s rapturous wreck Social Rust, amounted to the sound of systematically sabotaging a buzz-saw factory. Naomi Punk, from Olympia, Washington trades in leaden riffs like Wild Moth, only with greater emphasis on repetition, jerky rhythms, and unusual turnarounds.
