Re: “A Father's Quest

I am disappointed by this article. Although the mother did not want to participate in this story, it was very one-sided. If a mother takes off with a child, it is generally because her child is being raped by the father, and even if there is evidence, all contact between mother and child is generally cut off and the father scores custody. I know several California mothers in this situation. So why should the father be treated any differently when he takes off. Even his reason for keeping the child from his mother was really lame. Mothers are punished very badly in court, and this father, after taking the son and keeping away from the mother still has pretty good contact with him? Amazing! This would not happen if it was a mother in this case. Seems like the judge was being more than fair to this father, because mothers don't get this in court.
