Acreccsucks - "Blighted crime ridden communitie" and "Nobody wants to raise their kids in a slum with poor schools" are in NO way descriptors of the city of Alameda.

" If you want more of your city employees to live in Alameda you need to pay them MORE and make the city an attractive place to raise a family." Do you have any idea how much the Alameda Firefighters make? A high school diploma and passing an entry test gets a base entry salary of $85K plus generous benefits and ample opportunity for over time. Many firefighters are the highest paid of all employees in the city.
