The beat goes on when choreographer Kathryn Roszak, seminal Beat poet Michael McClure, and saxophonist George Brooks join forces to perform Mysteriosos, a fusion of dance, theater, and music at the Jazzschool (2087 Addison St., Berkeley) on Friday, March 2. Following up Pensive Spring, her interpretation of Emily Dickinson, the literary Roszak has created dances that wend their way among Amy Evans McClure's sculptures and through Michael McClure's sensual, socially conscious poetry, ripe with visceral imagery and well-suited to incarnate expression. A frequent accompanist to McClure's readings, Brooks is a master of both jazz and Indian classical music who has performed with musicians from Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown to ZakirHussain. The alchemy of these elements promises to be quite a happening indeed. 8 p.m., $18-$0. 510-845-5373 or
